Kai restaurant finds fixed home

A Māori food business says kiwis of all stripes are ready to embrace indigenous kai.
Jarrad and Belinda McKay have opened Pūhā and Pākehā in Grey Lynn’s Surrey Crescent after running it from a food truck for the past five years, Mr McKay says there’s a market for Māori fusion fare.
"Kiwis have been outward looking for quite some time, we love Indian and Thai and French and Italian, we love that kind of stuff, and the reason we modernised is we could elevate and help Māori kai put its best foot forward," he says.
Mr McKay has parked up the Pūhā and Pākehā truck in the courtyard, but says it will still come out for catered events and markets.
