Whaitiri seeks end to sacking saga

Labour MP Meka Whaitiri says she is focusing on working hard for the people of Ikaroa Rāwhiti, and better managing employment relationships.
She has welcomed the release of the official report into the incident that led to her being sacked from her ministerial portfolios, and cooperated fully with the investigation.
The report found it was more likely than not that Ms Whaitiri had grabbed her then press secretary by the arm during an altercation in Gisborne, leaving a bruise.
Ms Whaitiri says while she has contested some of the allegations, she was disappointed her behaviour led to a complaint.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she stands by her decision to demote Ms Whaitiri to the back bench but to leave her in parliament.
