League draws crowds to Iwi of Origin

The introduction of rugby league has boosted participation in Auckland's Iwi of Origin games.
Takoha Ropati from He Oranga Poutama ki Tāmaki says the aim is to encourage whānau to come together and play together whether that's league, basketball, traditional Māori games, or line-dancing, chess and karaoke for the kaumātua.
"Every year we're growing and with the introduction of rugby league we found big masses would come to support their tamariki so this year we are looking at the 4000 mark of participation" he says.
Iwi or Origin is at Bruce Pulman Park in Takanini on Sunday October 7.
