Ngāpuhi in Australia to hear settlement plans
Ngāpuhi in Australia to hear settlement plans
Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations Minister Andrew Little heads for Australia next week to hui with members of Ngāpuhi on progress towards the tribe’s treaty settlement progress.
More than 25,000 Ngapuhi live across the Tasman.
He says at hui with Ngāpuhi members around Aotearoa New Zealand he heard how important it is for the iwi to have kanohi ki te kanohi engagement with him as Minister, and it’s crucial Ngāpuhi in Ahitereiria have that same opportunity.
Ngāpuhi leaders from Tūhoronuku and Te Kotahitanga will explain a proposal for an evolved mandate negotiation structure, and Mr Little will be there to hear feedback from and to answer questions directly.
The hui are at Redfern, Sydney at noon on September 22, the Pullman Brisbane Airport Hotel that evening, and Perth the next afternoon.
