Fox quits Māori Party leadership
Former MP Marama Fox has stepped down as co-leader of the Māori Party
Since losing her seat at the election, Ms Fox has tried to start a business providing affordable housing, as well as appearing on Dancing with the Stars.
Māori Party president Che Wilson says that the executive acknowledges the significant contribution she has made to the party over the years.
It supports her decision to resign in order to focus on issues related to her private business after her consultancy was placed into liquidation, owing more than $70,000.
Mr Wilson says her priority is to repay any outstanding debts, and which the executive believes is the right and proper course of action for her to take.
