Actor and musician Troy Kingi's songwriting skills are now in the spotlight with his selection for the finals of the APRA Silver Scroll Awards.
His entry Aztechknowledgey is described as a cosmic jam about ancestry and our connection to the past and future.
The other top songs are Future Me Hates Me, written by Elizabeth Stokes and performed by The Beths;
– Hunnybee by Ruban Nielson*, Kody Nielson* and Jacob Portrait from Unknown Mortal Orchestra;
– Laugh It Off , written by Chelsea Jade Metcalf* and Bradley Hale, performed by Chelsea Jade;
– And Marlon Williams' Nobody Gets What They Want Anymore, which Williams performed with his former partner Aldous Harding.
They will be presented at Spark Arena in Auckland on October 4.
