Te Arawa hikoi remembers Talei Morrison

Te Arawa women have launched a national Smear Your Mea Day in memory of the late Talei Roimata Morrison, who campaigned for wāhine Māori to get themselves tested for cervical cancer.
Ms Morrison died in June of the disease.
To honour her memory on the first anniversary of the day her cancer was diagnosed, almost 200 people took part in activities on Sunday including biking round Lake Rotorua or walking the 6 kilometres from her burial site at Kauae Cemetery to the lakefront.
The campaign intends to target kapa haka roopu to support the initiative.
