Robots for Māori film celebration
There will be robots, laser beams and dancers at Freyberg Place in Downtown Auckland this evening.
They’re part of Journey to Zygertron, a free concert where Troy Kingi will perform his last album Shake That Skinny Ass All the Way to Zygertron.
It’’s a taster for the Wairoa Māori Film Festival’s first official Auckland Council-backed Māori Film Week, which includes free screenings of Māori and indigenous films and shorts in the Ellen Melville Hall.
Kingi says he’s excited to be part of it.
The Troy Kingi concert kicks off in Freyberg Place at 6pm.
You can book on Eventbrite for the screenings at Ellen Melville Centre and at the Academy Cinema.
There’s also an exhibition of multimedia art at the Wallace Arts Centre in the Pah Homestead in Hillsborough, light boxes in Freyberg Place and Bledisloe Lane, and a light activation at Pa Rongorongo on Victoria Street ..
