Permanent souvenir from Te Puia visit

The New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute Te Puia has opened a tattoo studio so visitors can take away a permanent reminder of their visit to Rotorua.
Tattooist and tutor Arekatera Maihi says ta moko demonstrations have been a popular element in the Tuku Iho: Living Legacy exhibition which has been travelling the globe, so the institute was keen to create a suitable facility back home.
He will work alongside Jacob Tautari, with every tattoo a unique creation coming out of a discussion with the recipient.
People can choose to have their moko done in public or to have the viewing window closed if they want privacy.
