Tourism grilling turned back

Tourism Minister Kelvin Davis says National is playing politics with the way select committees are managed.
National MPs on the economic development committee are threatening to recall Mr Davis after describing his replies to their questions on Thursday as vacant and complacent.
But Mr Davis says the committee chair, National's Jonathan Young, allowed questions about matters which were the responsibility of other ministers.
"So when they ask me things like do I have concerns about cellphone coverage, I said no. Do I have concerns about broadband rollout, no. Do I have concerns about Overseas Investment Office decisions, the answer is no. Paul Goldsmith was concerned there weren't going to be enough golf courses for his rich mates to play on and I said mate there are plenty of golf courses in New Zealand," he says.
Mr Davis says with more than 5 million visitors a year expected by 2024, there is plenty of opportunity for Maori in the sector.
