National’s by-election candidate has a message of personal responsibilty for the voters of Northcote.
Dan Bidois hopes to hold what had been a safe blue seat in the face of a strong challenge from Labour’s Shanan Halbert.
Drawing on his own story of going from being a high school dropout to a career in business, he says if elected tomorrow he will feel privileged to help those facing hardship in the electorate.
"And my message from the National Party is we want to give you a hand up, not a hand out. We wantyou to succeed on your own two feet and we will give you that help, we will make sure you have gotthat training,the skills development, the motivation, but you have to be able to want this yourself," Mr Bidois says.
