Wahine sought for forest work

Associate Forestry Minister Meka Whaitiri says the launch of the new forestry agency Te Uru Rakau future proofs the New Zealand forestry industry.
The Ikaroa Rawhiti MP has been given the task of overseeing all initiatives for afforestation in the Tairawhiti and East Coast area.
She is keen to make sure Maori who want to use their land for forestry can, and that there is a diverse, skilled and safe workforce.
She intends to champion the involvement of women in forestry.
