Bridges far behind in Green stakes

Green MP Marama Davidson says National party leader Simon Bridges will need to make major changes before he can think of working with the Greens.
The question of whether Mr Bridges could lure the Greens into a coalition has been a source of speculation as people look at the challenges National would face to again form a government.
Ms Davidson, who is campaigning for her own party’s co-leadership, is interested in his claim he wants to work with the Greens more on environmental issues, while dismissing its social justice policies as bits and bobs.
"Mr Bridges needs to remember he has made some pretty harmful decisions for our environment including opening up Maui’s dolphin sanctuaries for oil permits. If he thinks we can address environmental concerns without addressing social justice concerns then he’s got a lot to learn so if he wants to come our way he’s got to make a lot of changes to his party’s approach," she says.
