Enthusiasm as regional plans funded
Employment Minister Willie Jackson says people are starting to see action on the country’s problems instead of talk.
Enthusiasm as regional plans funded
National has criticised the first announcement from the Government’s $1m billion a year Provincial Growth Fund for including projects started on its watch.
But Mr Jackson says he’s proud the Labour-New Zealand First Government got the fund going.
"The Nats keep talking about it but they never appropriated anything. It’s like some of the employment initiatives. They talked about it but they never rolled the initiatives out. It’s one thing to say that was ours. It’s another to actually do it and roll the kaupapa out and that is what this Government is doing. Our people are excited. They are embracing the kauapapa," he says.
