Steam learning shared with Africa

Bay of Plenty iwi Ngati Tahu has teamed up with Contact Energy to help indigenous communities tackle geothermal power projects.
They're part of an exchange programme to Kenya funded by Power Africa, working with Maasai populations and Kenyan power company KenGen.
Ngati Tahu Tribal Lands Trust member Aroha Campbell says indigenous communities have unique relationships and values when it comes to geothermal resources and the natural environment.
Power companies need to recognise that if they want to build a good working relationship.
Ngati Tahu signed an agreement with Contact five years ago around the development of the Ohaaki geothermal field.
