Rangatahi put sustainability on film

Films about community efforts to protect inanga habitat, the importance of the Maori language revival and a drama about cultural identity are among the winners of this year's Someday Challenge.
The film challenge asks young people aged up to 24 to make short sustainability-related films of any genre, filmed with any camera and any length up to 5 minutes.
The films are now online at stuff.co.nz, with voting for the Stuff Audience Choice award open until next Monday.
The film-maker or team behind the vote-winning film will receive a prize package that includes a Panasonic HC-WXF995 4K Ultra HD Camcorder, and there are spot prizes for voters.
Other category prizes will be announced at a red carpet event at the Aotea Centre in Auckland on December 7.
Each of the winning films will be entered into at least one international film festival in 2018.
