Partial victory over Ture Whenua Bill says Whaitiri

The MP for Ikaroa Rawhiti Meka Whaitiri who has been an opponent of the Ture Whenua Bill says the decision by the Minister for Maori Development to hold off on the Bill for now is a partial victory
"I claim it as a a partial victory, partial in the fact that it's just been deferred rather than actually pulled which is obviously what the overall hold was, to have it completely withdrawn and go back to the drawing board and do the changes properly. Something that Te Ururoa has failed to do,"says Meka Whaitiri.
She says MP's have tried to work with Minister Flavell in a constructive way to ensure the Bill was more appealing and clear for Maori land owners.
