Matariki hakari for whanau


Te Puni Kokiri in Tamaki Makaurau is reaching out to whanau who are sleeping rough by hosting a Matariki hakari.
TPK Manager Marty Rogers says the hakari is just one of many initiatives the government agency is involved with to help ease the burden of vulnerable whanau.
The hakari is open to all whanau sleeping rough or in cars and experiencing homelessness.
"We've touched alot of our whanau we've got a lot of different organisations and businesses involved both providing short term awhi and intervention as well as planning for long term intervention to try and ease the burden of our whanau," says Marty Rogers.
