Hine Boss boost for Maori Women’s Development


The Maori Women's Development Incorporation is is to receive $3.7 million over the next two years for mentoring, advice and support services so more Maori women can start businesses or expand their existing enterprises.
Te Puni Kokiri chief executive Michelle Hippolite says the incorporation has a track record of success and commitment to get more Maori into business.
One of the programmes funded will be Hine Boss, which supports businesses setting up.
Te Puni Kokiri has also signed an agreement formalising the Budget 2017 boost to New Zealand Maori Tourism of $19 million over four years.
Ms Hippolite says it will allow the organisation to support Maori businesses working in cultural tourism, boost its effort to develop Maori tourism in the regions, and promote Maori values and Maori tourism experiences to the world as a platform to enhance NZ Inc.
