Mana leader Hone Harawira says disgraced Clutha Southland MP should resign now rather than propping up the Government until the election.
The first term MP stepped down as a candidate for the 2017 election after it emerged he had lied for more than a year about secretly recording staff in his electorate office.
Mr Harawira says it's a fitting end to a less than impressive political career.
"Todd Barclay, a little rich white boy. Understand he was a representative for big tobacco before he came into parliament. Good riddance to the prick. He thinks he can make his money off a product that kills Maori and then just swan into politics, break the law, and get the prime minister's slush fund to pay it off and get away with it? Don't deserve to stick around," he says.
