Labour list endorsed
Greens co-leader Metiria Turei says Labour’s selection process has thrown up a list the Greens would be happy to work wth.
Coverage of the list focused on the placing of broadcaster Willie Jackson at number 21, which Ms Turei says is nothing to complain about.
She’s celebrating the inclusion in the top 20 of two young wahine Maori, Willow Jean Prime and Kiri Allen.
"Willow up north has been an incredible force, and Kiri is a really staunch Labour person for a long time and was also over at Standing Rock and in her role as a lawyer has been a fierce advocate for indigenous issues so I am pleased about that. We will work with them really well,," Ms Turei says.
She also hopes the Greens will put some young Maori and Pasifika women high on their list.
