Role Funding:

The Uenuku Charitable Trust has signed terms to negotiate a settlement for the Uenuku, Tamakana and Tamahaki people of the Raetihi area and the middle reaches of the Whanganui River.

Chair Aiden Gilbert says it aims to complete an agreement in principle with the crown by mid-2018.

He says it will look to whanau, hapu and iwi for direction on potential redress.

The trust will hold an information hui for hapu at its offices in Raetihi on Sunday afternoon.
