Last stand for Maori showbands
Some of the great names of the Maori showband era take the stage at the Manurewa RSA tonight.
Mahora Peters from the Maori Volcanics says the Last Stand tour opened in great style last night in Whangarei, featuring members of the Volcanics, the Quin Tikis, Hi Fives, Hi Quins and Castaways.
She says it great to see so many old friends.
"Freddie Summers from the Quins came in from America, Sol Pohatu came up from Gisborne, Wes Epae came over from Florida, Kevin Rongonui came in from El Paso so we are having a great time, it's wonderful getting together," Peters says.
The Maori Showbands Last Stand concert at the Manurewa RSA starts at 7.30 tonight.
