McDonald for third run in Te Tai Hauauru


The Green Party’ has chosen Jack McDonald from Taranaki Iwi, Te Whakatohea and Te Atiawa as its candidate for Te Tai Hauauru.
It’s his third run in the seat, which stretches from Tokoroa to Tawa.
Mr McDonald, fa ormer chair of the Paekakariki Community Board, works as the Greens’ Maori political and media advisor.
He has previously worked in the offices of MPs Metiria Turei and Marama Davidson.
Ms Turei says he is a young man who can articulate the Green kaupapa across many constituencies.
Mr McDonald says he wants to make the Greens a real force in Maori politics.
He is also proud to be considered a role model for rangatahi Maori participation in politics.
If elected as a Green list MP, he promises to encourage youth participation in politics, and to channel their dissatisfaction with politics as usual and the entrenched political establishment into action.
