Wellington’s Te Reo Irirangi o Te Upoko o Te Ika is to be the official radio broadcaster for the third round of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens to be played at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium on January 28 and 29.
Station manager Adrian Wagner says Te Upoko has run regular live commentaries of local and representative rugby over the past two years.
“Our role at the 2017 HSBC Wellington Sevens will feature our experienced broadcasting team as we continue to grow our support of New Zealand’s national game on the international stage,” he says.
The broadcast is sponsored by Spacewise New Zealand, who hire and sell new and used shipping containers.
Managing director Dion Ross says the New Zealand owned and operated company is pleased to able to support a local radio station showcase what is a marquee global sporting event.
Te Upoko will broadcast the 45 games live from Westpac Stadium on 1161AM and on any mobile device globally via www.tunein.com or www.irirangi.net.
