The chief executive of Maori Television says there will be no redundancies as a result of the shift to East Tamaki.

The company is restructuring its production and programming departments as it attempts to get its content out through a wider range of platforms.

But Paora Maxwell says the shift away from the Newmarket studios won't mean any job losses.

"As we currently understand the configuration of what we are establishing in East Tamaki, there is no plan to make anyone redundant as a result of the move," he says.

Mr Maxwell says work has started on converting the existing building at East Tamaki, and the move should happen next June.
