Album 28 could be a winner for Marsh

Singer Denis Marsh has made this year’s Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards with his Maori Songbook 2 a finalist in the Maori album category.
It’s his 28th album, which makes fellow finalists Rob Ruha and Kirsten Te Rito look like relative newcomers.
It’s been a remarkable career, and the album was a chance to resurrect some old favourites.
" One of my mum’s favourite son's is on there, Haere mai everything is ka pai, they are the songs that our old people use to sing together so I went back and brought them forward and it seems to be doing really well so I have my fingers and toes crossed" he says.
Dennis Marsh says after 28 albums he’s starting to run out of ideas, so it’s time for prayer – the 29th will be his first gospel album.
