Chair of Te Puea Marae, Hurimoana Dennis on Paakiwaha
Te Puea Marae in Mangere, bought to the fore homelessness in the area and opened their doors to families in June under the Manaaki Tangata initiative.
The ywere able to achieve where many government agencies had failed families.
Te Puea Memorial Marae was established in 1965 in honour of Te Puea Herangi CBE, granddaughter of the second Maori king, King Tawhiao.
The marae and it's people continue with the work laid down by Te Puea Herangi …
