Sir Ngatata Love facing fraud charge

Name suppression has been lifted against former Wellington Tenths Trust chair Sir Ngatata Love, who is on trial in the High Court in Wellington on charges of fraud and corruption.
Suppression was also lifted against two others who face separate trials on related charges, his wife Lorraine Skiffington and his son Matene Love.
The Serious Fraud Office alleges Sir Ngatata, 78, received a payment from the developer of Tenths land in Pipitea St near parliament.
Rather than going to the trust, the money went towards paying off the mortgage of a Kapiti property he owned with Skiffington.
Fraud charges against Skiffington for her involvement in property negotiations was stayed last August because she is seriously ill.
