Mana Movement leader Hone Harawira on Paakiwaha.
Lisa McNab, President of the MANA Movement said she had recently talked with the Maori Party's new President Tukuroirangi Morgan, to follow up on discussions held last week with MANA Leader Hone Harawira about possible working arrangements between both organizations.
"The MANA Movement recognizes the desire within Maoridom for MANA and the Maori Party not to fight with one another, but to try to work together for the betterment of Maori people".
"MANA was born out of fundamental political differences with the Maori Party" said McNab "but we have always kept a door open for discussions with the Maori Party on unity within Maoridom".
"The Maori Party’s new President Tuku Morgan publicly announced his willingness to enter into discussions with MANA leader Hone Harawira".
"Our current plans are to stand a full set of candidates in the seven Maori seats" said McNab "but we are willing to consider strategic arrangements with the Maori Party to bring all Maori seats back into Maori hands and we will do so in a positive and respectful MANA enhancing manner".
Hone Harawira talks with Willie Jackson about the AGM and Mana are ready to contest every Maori seat at the general elections.
