Broadcaster, Scotty Morrison on Paakiwaha
The inaugural Matariki Awards were held last night by Maori Television in partnership with Te Puni Kokiri.
Radio and Television presenter Scotty Morrison claimed Te Waiti award for Te Reo and Tikanga.
Scotty Morrison has been guided and nurtured throughout his learning of te reo Maori which has become his life long passion and life long career.
He acknowledged those who helped him as a second language learner, including the late Hirini Melbourne, Timoti Karetu, Pou Temara, Wharehuia Milroy, Waihoroi and Rahera Shortland and Pania Papa, who as also a finalist.
