Fox calls out "doctor of death"
Maori Party co-leader Marama Fox has challenged a tobacco industry spokesperson to remove tobacco products from shops that sell cigarettes to children.
Ms Fox went head to head with Imperial Tobacco corporate affairs director Axel Gietz on TV3’s The Nation.
Dr Gietz said his firm would only pull its products after a third conviction, but that it supported any measures that are effective in fighting underage smoking.
Ms Fox said being a doctor gave him some sort of credibility in his work for Imperial Tobacco, but Dr Goebbels was also a doctor.
She said he was peddling death and destruction and misery on Maori people.
