Audio version for Rere Te Whiu
A Maori language programme initially designed for web viewing has been picked up for rebroadcast on Maori Television’s digital platform and more than 10 Maori and iwi radio stations.
Rere Te Whiu aims to teach speakers and learners of the Maori language how to negotiate the subtleties of Maori idioms and colloquial phrases in the appropriate contexts.
Co producer Hohepa Tuahine says Punarau Media will now create audio versions of each skit ready for airplay which will transform Rere Te Whiu into a multiplatform language resource.
The Rere Te Whiu pilot episode can be accessed via YouTube and Facebook.
