A settlement covering claims covering seven clusters of iwi and hapu in the Wairoa district has been initialled in parliament.
Te Tira Whakaemi o Te Wairoa chair Tamati Olsen says the members will now be asked to ratify the $100 million deal.
He says the settlement will allow Te Tira to move towards a better future economically, socially and culturally.
The settlement will be the fifth largest in terms of financial redress.
Information hui will be held around the country in the two weeks from July 22.
