The amazing Trump

The amazing Trump
WILLIE JACKSON
No chance, we all thought when billionaire celebrity Donald Trump first threw his hat into the ring to stand for the most powerful position in the world the US Presidency. Trump was to outrageous, to out there and just to crazy – well so we all thought to be able to get enough support for the Republican nomination to challenge for the big job.
As well he was up against the crème de la crème of the Republican party, 16 other candidates and some real stars in the mix. Politicians like Senator Marco Rubio who was seen as one of the great young prospects of American politics, Florida Governor Jeb Bush the brother and son of former US Presidents, Chris Christie the New Jersey Governor, Dr Ben Carson one of the greatest physicians in the world and Texas Governor Ted Cruz one of Americas most formidable politicians just to name a few.
However somehow he beat them all with a campaign that no one will ever forget. Trump played his game, pulled no punches and seemed to be able to break every rule in the book and not only survive but he seemed almost stronger after every slip up. Who would have believed that he could have accused former president George Bush of lying about going to war over Iraq, labelled Senator John McCain a former war hero a non-hero and mimicked a disabled reporter yet come out virtually unscathed.
Republican voters didn’t care they ignored his stupidity as well as Trumps racist and sexist rantings. They wanted Trump, they were sick of career politicians and they wanted someone who would represent their interests.
Trump’s messages are simple and go straight to the hearts of millions of American patriots with his call to “Make America great again,” he plays to their prejudices with how they should deal with terrorists and Isis. His solutions ban Muslims from entering the US, use increased torture methods to interrogate detainees and if none of that works, well just “bomb the shit out of them.”
And he has the answer for the high Mexican crime, build a wall that the Mexican government will have to pay for and just keep them out.
Republicans in their millions loved it all but they also love Trump because although he may be a billionaire he seems to have a common touch. Unlike most politicians he has a personality that seems to resonate with your average American who are sick of political correctness, sick of lying politicians and want someone who talks their talk.
Trump is their man, he has run the most outrageous campaign ever seen in US politics, mayhem would probably be the best word to describe it and there’s no doubt he is on a roll and only a fool would not give him a chance of winning the presidency.
However, I just can’t see him going all the way and being successful his support in a huge majority are white males. Sadly, for him there is just not enough of them to get him across the line and his inability to connect with women, the Black, Hispanic and minorities vote should eventually bring about his downfall.
