A new chief executive for northern Hawkes Bay iwi Ngati Pahauwera.
Robin Hape has been formally welcomed to the role at the Pahauwera Development Trust with a powhiri at Waipapa-a-iwi Marae in Mohaka.
He paid tribute to Ngati Pahauwera kuia Marjorie Joe, who took him under her wing as a young trainee at Maori Affairs 30 years ago.
He has since worked at in government and non-government organisations including Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, Ministry of Fisheries and Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi, delivering community and tertiary education to marae.
He also chairs Kahuranaki Marae in Hastings.
