Rueben Taipari on Paakiwaha
Rueben Taipari and his whanau live and breathe the teachings of their tupuna.
They live on their own land, they teach their tamariki about the taiao and caring for Papatuanuku.
Rueben and his whanau have built their own home using sustainable materials and they encourage other whanau to noho whenua.
But, Rueben is concerned about is the how changes to the Ture Whenua Bill will benefit his whanau and others. He says he can't see why the Minister for Maori Development would insist on pushing the Act through when the legal minds of the Waitangi Tribunal are saying to the minister and the government to 'taihoa'.
Rueben Taipari says how will the Ture Whenua Bill support those who noho whenua and does it address tino rangatiratanga.
