Noel Raihania C Company, 28 Maori Battalion on Paakiwaha
Voting forms have been delivered to thousands of households to pick a new flag or keep the current one. Noel Raihania, one of the very few remaining members of the 28 Maori Battalion says, when they signed up to fight in the war they signed up for God for King and for Country under that flag and signed up allegiance to that flag.
He says his allegiance is still there.
As for a flag that is representative of all New Zealanders be they Pacific Islanders, Indians, Chinese and others Noel Raihania says they are Johnny come later, they are here at our pleasure.
