Volcanics still firing
Maori Volcanics singer Mahora Peters says recent deaths of some legendary players was a reminder time is marching on.
It may be the last chance to give people a glimpse of the glory days when Maori bands held sway at clubs around the world.
"Do, die or bust it will be about November, because we have some of the Hi Fives up in America, Kawana Pohe, Mere (Nimmo), Wes Epae, Paddy Te Tai, Peter Wolland, there's about five of them still up in America, and then you've got some of the Quin Tikis, and then the others over in Australia, so yes, we're definitely going to make it happen this year," she says.
Mahora Peters and the Maori Volcanics play tomorrow night at the Manurewa RSA from 7.30pm.
