Community links vital for Pharmac advisors
Pharmac is looking for two Maori for its consumer committee.
The current chair, Maori tobacco control advocate Shane Bradbrook, and Katerina Pihera are coming to the end of their terms and need to be replaced.
PHARMAC chief executive Steffan Crausaz says it's seeking applications from people with experience in representing the interests of Maori communities, with a particular interest in health.
The government drug buying agency is working to improve Maori use of medicines, so it's important it continues to receive good advice on how best to interact with the Maori community.
He says the most effective members are those with strong community support.
Members can be appointed for up to two terms, and a maximum of six years.
Applications through the Pharmac website close on March 4.
