Maori-Irish fusion for Auckland
Irish music meets Maori waiata and more in Auckland this weekend.
Beneath the Words, Beneath the Land is a collaboration between a group of Taranaki musicians and members of a Tipperary clan.
Singer Morgana Watson says they collaborated on shows last hear in the emerald isle, and felt they should repeat the venture here.
As well as songs in Irish, English and Maori there’s storytelling and haka.
Doors open at 78.30 at Corban Estate in Henderson, and the exercise will be repeated tomorrow at Artworks Theatre in Waiheke.
