Mongrel Mob calls for calm after Wairoa deaths

The Mongrel Mob is calling for calm in the wake of the deaths of three men when their car went into the Mohaka River.
Police are investigating whether the car was run off the road.
The three were Terry Stone, 31, Ronald Rigby, 53, and Nathan Isaac, 29 – all from Wairoa were with another man who was injured, they were on their way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the gang’s Hastings chapter.
Hastings Mongrel Mob president Rex Timu, who is currently in Wairoa, says tensions have been rising round the country.
"The message from the Mob leader in Wairoa is for everyone from the Mongrel Mob and Black Power round the country to keep calm. The whanau are still grieving and until the funerals and tangi's take place the two groups will sit down at the table and sort this out," Mr Timu says.
