Experienced hands for Ngai Tahu Tourism

Ngai Tahu Tourism has gone with a couple of industry heavyweights as it fills places around its board table.
Its two new directors are Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism chair Dave Hawkey and Black Cat Cruises chair and Air New Zealand director Paul Bingham.
Mr Hawkey established Christchurch’s International Antarctic Centre in the early 1990s before working for Tourism NZ in North America and more recently running Real Journeys.
He is currently chief executive of the University of Canterbury Students’ Association, overseeing the major redevelopment of its building following the Christchurch earthquakes.
Mr Bingham has grown Black Cat Cruises into one of New Zealand's top tourism companies.
He is also director and chief operating officer of Shuttlerock, which develops a digital marketing software.
Ngai Tahu Tourism chair Sarah Smith says the pair will bring valuable knowledge and experience to the board.
