Urban Pacific culture will be bursting out all over Auckland next month with the Urbanesia festival.
The opening is this Saturday at the Otara Markets, but Auckland Council's Pacific programme leader Olivia Taouma says there's music, arts, culture and community events right across the super city, not just in the south and west.
"So I think that's really exciting for everybody to say, hey we've got Pacific people across the whole of Auckland and let's celebrate that and the uniqueness of Aucklands' identity as the biggest polynesian city in the world and also how amazing the arts and culture and vibrancy of our people that we have here in Auckland," says Olivia Taouma.
For inner city dwellers there's a special bus leaving for Otara tomorrow at 9am from Studio One Toi Tu, at number 1 Ponsonby Rd at 9am for coffee.
