Digital ideas to drive Maori economy

Maori are being urged to look to the internet for economic development.
A new competition has been launched to flush out innovative digital ideas, apps or products with a Maori focus.
DigMyIdea is backed by the National Maori Broadband Working Group Nga Pu Waea and ATEED, Auckland's Tourism, Events & Economic Development agency, with support from Callaghan Innovation and Poutama Trust.
The top five individuals or teams in each category will get to further develop their ideas at the DIGIwananga workshop in Auckland in November before the winners are selected.
Prizes include products and services to help start up a business.
Ideas should be submitted through www.digmyidea.nz by October 18.
