Greens co leader sees TPPA floundering
etiria Turei says its likely the TPPA is in its last gasp.
She says while there are a range of views the most likely is that Canadia and US elections will make settlement unachievable it the time frome that Trade Minister Tim Grosser admits it needs to be done. .
Ms Turei thinks a big surge to get agreement is unlikely and what we are seeing in New Zealand is Minister Grosser not wanting to admit failure.
Metiria Turei says the prosepct of the proposed agreement fallng over should not lead to complacency by opponents embodied in the Waitangi Tribunal Appeal which while refusing to hold a hearing due to the timeframe did make some serious observations about its potentially adverse effects on Maori.
She says the Government has completely misread New Zealanders desire to be informed about what is going on behind closed doors and the action filed yesterday by Auckland University law professor Jane Kelsey needs to be played out .
