Taranaki's smallest iwi Ngati Maru is confident its on the right path for a Treaty settlement.
Te Runanga o Ngati Maru (Taranaki) Trust chairman Holden Hohaia says a series of hui are being held next month seeking a mandate from the people so the the Trust can start discussions with the Crown.
While around a thousand uri have registered Mr Hohaia says there are probably about 10-thousand people who whakapapa to the iwi and its important to get them on the tribal register.
