July te reo month for Massey

Maori Language Week isn’t enough for Massey University.
It is extending it to take in the whole month of July.
Activities for Te Marama o Te Reo Maori include Maori movies, waiata sessions, guest speakers and giant Maori scrabble games on all campuses.
The university and Auckland Museum will host the Treaty on the Ground conference at the Massey Campus from July 6 to 8, discussing how the Treaty of Waitangi will inform future Maori and Pakeha relationships in a post-settlement world.
The Wellington programme will include a presentation by the Society for Maori Astronomy, Research & Traditions on the significance of Puanga.
That star, also known as Rigel, marks the start of the Maori new year in parts of Taranaki, Northland, the West Coast of Te Waipounamu and Rekohu/Wharekauri rather than the Matariki constellation.
