MTS board member keen to reach out
New Maori Television board member Waihoroi Shortland says he's keen to see how the service can work in with other Maori broadcasters.
The writer, actor and programme maker says over the past decade Maori television has become an important part of New Zealand's broadcasting landscape against great odds,
Now is the time to go further and explore what Maori want from it.
"In a wider sense I think Maori, particularly over the next short while, should be looking at its wider broadcasting assets and asking how can we tie all this together," Mr Shortland says.
He says Maori Television is about meeting the crown's obligation to Maori broadcasting.
