Kiwi’s are in with a chance

A bit of familiarity may improve New Zealand’s prospects tonight in the annual Anzac rugby league clash in Brisbane.
Selector and former captain Ritchie Barnett from Ngati Kahu says while Australia always going into the clash as favourites, the Kiwis have a lot of confidence about their line up.
He says in the past the team scrambled to develop combinations and game plans after only a few days together.
"And it’s not rocket science that we end up getting beaten at ANZAC Day tests. Now we can actually genuinely say, that we have got a team that can compete and the combinations that can match the Aussies. We have just got to keep going and keep learning keep improving. I think we have got the side that cohesively and from a team perspective they really enjoy each other so I think that's the key" he says.
Richie Barnett says a bit of spark can be expected from the eight Maori players, including Isaac Luke, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, the big Tohu Harris and Jesse Bromwich.
